Turning point of Catalysis: new raw materials, new approaches and new technologies

Catalysis has a very important role in sustainable development. The combination of nanotechnology, design of new drugs and new materials and development of new processes contributed to make catalysis crucial for the planet survival, for the development of  emergent countries and the preservation of the living standard in the 'rich' countries. The innovation in catalysis allowed conjugating the need for sustainability (in terms of activity, selectivity and stability concepts) with the need for efficiency (in terms of quantity, costs and energy). Within this context, the School  of  GIC aims to address the state of art of the academic and industrial research in catalysis, stressing its role in the development of modern chemistry.
